What matters more than job history
• What you can do • How you think • How you communicate • How reliable you are
Not a long list of past jobs.
What to include instead of work experience
• University or college projects • Coursework, essays, reports or presentations • Group work or campaigns • Society roles or committee positions • Volunteering • Personal or side projects • Freelance, informal or unpaid experience • Tools you’ve used (Canva, Excel, Figma, Google Docs, social platforms, etc.)
If you’ve done something that involved thinking, creating, researching, organising or communicating, it counts.
A simple CV structure we recommend
If you’re starting from scratch, keep it simple: 1. Profile (4-6 lines) Who you are, what you’re studying (if relevant), and what kind of work you’re interested in.
• You are not paying to join • We're not a recruiter or employer • We provide guidance, not tax advice • We don't offer unpaid work
